The Publicity Coordinator “shall promote and publicize all activities of the Band and be responsible for the printing of handouts, programs, brochures, advertising matter, and other appropriate material, including the Band’s Web site.”
Janice has been interested in music since public school where
she learned to play clarinet. During the summers when in college, she played
in a community band, joined the musicians union and got paid! While at

For hobbies, Janice is a crafter. She does 1-2 craft shows in the fall, selling cards, florals, and ornaments. Her interests also include photography, calligraphy and needlework.
Profile: Don Talbott, Website Manager:
Don has volunteered to maintain the band’s website. Recently, he established the band’s friends e-mail list. And, Don has added links to other band sites since January 2004.
Through the years, Don has learned to play several brass instruments along with the guitar. Don started playing in the 7th grade with the cornet, but switched to horn in high school where he performed in the concert band and a horn quartet. Besides the horn, he played the sousaphone in his high school jazz band. Don learned to play the classical guitar after graduating from high school. He joined the Bloomington Community Band in 1999 and began playing the tuba.

PICNIC: July 24th!
Don’t forget the picnic on Saturday, the 24th of July at McCormick’s Creek. Bring your own hamburger or hot dog with buns and a dish to share. Condiments, drinks, utensils, napkins, and plates will be provided. If you have questions, ask Phyllis.
